Our season finished up with our banquet on March 24^th at the Legion.  Another fun year of hockey in the AOHL! Thanks to Drums N Flats for the great food. 

The AOHL will hold it's annual general meeting on Thursday May 2^nd  at 6:30pm at Ajax Community Center – Captain’s Room.

Thank-you to all the players for your incredible generosity in this year’s fundraiser for the Salvation Army – Hope Community Services Ajax/Pickering.  The tournament weekend raised a record breaking $3,283.  Along with a league donation, the total amount donated was $4,100.  The Salvation Army was absolutely thrilled!   We have added some extra joy to many families for this holiday season!

We will be getting an update from the Salvation Army at our Exec meeting in January on how we made a difference, and the Reps will share this with you.

Our Registrar has completed the Draft and teams will be finalized week of August 14.  We expect to have team rosters posted week of August 21st. The schedule has been posted.

Players will be contacted by your Team Rep shortly.  They will provide you with payment instructions and start-up logistics. Payment in full will be required by Friday September 1, 2023 to your team rep.

We will be filling unpaid spots from the waiting list as of September 2.

Season Start:  Sunday September 10.  All Sunday games at ACC#2.

All games are being played at the ACC this season.

We will be following local health policies this season.  The mandatory vaccination requirement has been removed from the online application.  There will always be risk associated with Covid.  We strongly encourage everyone to be vaccinated; and stay home if you're not feeling well.

AOHL Executive

With our deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Brad Elliott on Tuesday March 21, 2023.

Always determined and never giving up, Brad ultimately lost his battle with cancer. 

Brad played hockey (and most things he did in life) with great passion. You always knew when Brad was on the ice…especially when chasing a puck in those corners!    

 #BradStrong will live on in our hearts and our memories forever.  He will always be watching us from the stands!

The Executive has selected Lakeridge Health - Our Cancer Campaign as the recipient of this year's Weekend for Bernie fundraising event.

In keeping with the tradition which began the Weekend for Bernie, it was an easy decision to continue our support of the valuable services that our Lakeridge Health Network provides us in Durham Region. 

This is in memory of the recent passing of Mickey McCue - a long-time AOHL player who passed away this past summer. 

We also dedicate this to Brad Elliott’s (former secretary) ongoing battle with cancer.

Since 2014 - the AOHL has raised $16,450 for various charities during the Weekend for Bernie initiative, thanks to the very generous donations from the AOHL players.

Players must be nominated by a member of the League to be considered.

Nominees should be in attendance at the AGM to be considered for the position.

Accepted nominations are voted on by the membership in attendance at the AGM.

Secretary Primary Responsibilities:

• Scheduling, agenda and minutes of AOHL meetings
• Tracking and follow-up of league action items
• Archiving of minutes and relevant league content onto server
• Responsible for maintaining and replacement of association property (primarly socks, jerseys)
• Work with Executive to co-ordinate efforts of the association and ensure they are properly socialized
• Prepare and Publish League Schedule
• Assist Webmaster with managing content on website and email accounts
